Transitioning Transgender Students’ Discourses About Gender

Abstract

In this study we used life story narrative (McAdams, 2008) to collect the life stories of six transgender university students who identified as transitioning or who had transitioned while attending college. We then used poststructural narrative analysis to understand the ways in which they discussed gender.
