Fri, November 15, 8:15 to 9:15am, Hilton Portland Downtown, Floor: Plaza, Atrium Ballroom

Abstract

This study (N=700) examined first-year university students’ food-insecurity, amotivation, stress, and engagement. Being LGBTQ (B=.26), 2+Races (B=.57), international (B=.53), transfer (B=.39), and first-generation (B=.22) correlated with food-insecurity. Food-insecurity linked with psychological distress (B=.31), financial stress (B=.15), and intent to engage peers (B=-.05). Amotivation negatively linked with all engagement captured.
