The Legacy of Urban Public Universities and Women’s Persistence in Ethiopian Higher Education

Abstract

In Ethiopian higher education, women are underrepresented across disciplines. In this study, the author examines how the positioning of public universities may limit educational opportunities for some women, while enhancing persistence for others. Data from an exploratory, sequential, mixed-methods study are used for this analysis.
