Abstract

Objective: This presentation provides an overview of the needs and challenges of low-income AAPI and Latinx student populations and discusses the rationale for focusing on MSIs to reach vulnerable student groups. This presentation is meant to provide the context for the papers being presented.
Method/Data source: 1) IPEDS data showing enrollment trends for AAPI and Latinx students in the State of Nevada; 2) U.S. Census data showing trends in educational attainment and intergenerational mobility for AAPI and Latinx populations in the State of Nevada.
