Abstract

This highlight session showcases the latest tech, tools, apps and techniques for field reporting with mobile gear.

The MOJO workshop always features fresh case studies and best practices of mobile journalism reports and documentaries from around the globe. The finalists of the latest #MojoAwards competition are revealed at this event, so you don’t want to miss it.

This mobile journalism workshop will provide you the opportunity to learn from and interact with an experienced U.S. media professional, access resources to navigate the larger news media industry, and explore some of the most pressing topics in the modern world of news reporting.

Robb Montgomery is the author of Smartphone Video Storytelling and Mobile Journalism. His documentary films have won top prizes at film festivals in Hollywood, Moscow and Berlin. He is the chair for the Mobile Journalism Awards and the director of the Smart Film School. Robb has also taught mobile journalism and design thinking courses at journalism schools like the Scripps School at Ohio University, Stockholm University, EFJ (Paris) and more. He is a former editor for the Chicago Tribune and Chicago Sun-Times.

U.S. Embassy Singapore recently organized this special Mojo Workshop event of the MOJO Awards in at Google Asia Pacific HQ and Robb has delivered Mobile Journalism workshops for journalism associations in Austria, Jamaica and Spain as part of the U.S Speaker Program, operated by the U.S. State Department.
