Session Submission Type: Paper Session
As the UN Decade for Education for Sustainable Development is approaching its end and as we prepare for the post-2015 development agenda, it’s important to think critically about the future of the term "Education for Sustainable Development" (ESD). While some scholars believe that the ESD label is appropriate and useful to describe what we do; others believe that the ESD label is biased and sideline environmental issues. In this interactive session we will discuss the name/label "Education for Sustainable Development" (ESD). The session will include brief presentations by members of the ESD SIG and then group discussion, which will be facilitated using Open-Space Technology.
