Sun, November 19, 2:50 to 4:20pm, Atlanta Marriott Marquis, Floor: Atrium Level, A701

Abstract

This research examines the negative impact of rapid digital transformation thrust upon today’s supply chains to stay competitive in the market. The challenges for organizations to address include dealing with data integration, cybersecurity risks, skill gaps, managing change, moving from legacy systems and infrastructure, changes in supplier collaboration and integration, etc. Primary impacts on people include job displacement and skills mismatch, increased workload, loss of human interaction, resistance to change and job insecurity. From societies point of view, it can lead to job displacement and economic inequality, digital divide and access disparities, disruption of local communities and small businesses.
