Exploring Child Security and Safety within Online Gaming Platforms: A Text Mining Approach

Abstract

With the increasing accessibility of the Internet and platforms, online gaming has become an important part of children’s lives. Despite numerous benefits, we should acknowledge the dark side of gaming platforms and related threats and risks, such as inappropriate content, cyberbullying, hacking, and scamming. Hence, this study aims to explore child security and safety topics and their relationships by leveraging text analytics and cluster analysis. Also, it will explore strategies and solutions to mitigate the risks from the perspectives of gaming platforms, parents, and children, themselves.
