A Loess Model Applied to Student Performance Evaluations

Abstract

The loess model is used for early warning system because it identifies more outliers. The paper studies student performance evaluations using loess model. The comprehensive score for a class is used for the loess model data. The control chart based on Loess model is built to identify overperformer, underperformer and well performer in the class and make decisions accordingly to communicate with students which effectively reducing student DFW.
