The 26th Annual Conference of the European Society of Criminology (ESC) will take place in Warsaw, Poland, from 9 to 12 September 2026.

INFORMATION FOR CHAIRS AND PRESENTERS

Panel Presenters:

The presentation should take 12-15 minutes, depending on the number of participants in the panel and the decision of the chair. The panel lasts 75 minutes.

Please bring your presentation on a USB flash drive. Having a copy available on a USB drive will help ensure a smooth and timely start of the session, as downloading files from email may cause delays. Please arrive in your session room before the panel starts to check that your presentation opens correctly and that all technical equipment is working properly. Each room will be equipped with a computer, projector, and presentation clicker. Please note that personal laptops cannot be connected to the presentation equipment. Presenters are kindly requested to respect their allocated presentation time to ensure that all sessions run according to schedule.

Information for Panel Chairs:

Please ensure that the session runs according to the conference programme and that presenters respect their allocated speaking time. Please arrive in the session room before the start of the panel. We kindly encourage you to ask presenters to check in advance that their presentations open correctly and work properly on the provided computer.

Each room will be equipped with time cards indicating the remaining presentation time.

Information for Poster Presenters:

Please prepare your poster in B1 format (maximum size: 70.7 × 100 cm / 27.83 × 39.37 inches). Posters must be designed in portrait (vertical) orientation. Landscape format posters cannot be accommodated. All presenters are kindly requested to print their posters in advance and bring them to the conference venue, as the local organisers do not provide poster printing services.

The poster display area will be open from 4:30 PM on Thursday, 10 September. Volunteers will be available to assist presenters with putting up their posters. The organisers will also provide materials for attaching the posters to the display boards.

Presenters are responsible for removing their posters after the Poster Session. The organisers are not responsible for posters left at the venue after the session ends.

Guidelines for Participants:

Please read the ESC Guidelines for Participants, which outline the principles of professional conduct and respectful participation during EUROCRIM 2026: https://eurocrim2026.com/guidelines-for-participants.

Login instructions

Profiles from previous years are automatically taken over by the allacademic system. You can simply log in with your credentials used in 2025 and 2024. If you have forgotten your password, please use the forgot my password functionality. Should you not remember any of your login information (login and password), please do not register a new profile, but write to us at abstracts.eurocrim2026@uw.edu.pl and we will try to help to recover your login information.

Please note

Please note: According to the rules of the conference, as stated in the acceptance letter and on the conference website, presenting authors are expected to be available for the entire duration of the conference.

As outlined in the acceptance letter, we are unable to guarantee or avoid specific dates or times for individual presentations. Scheduling conflicts for registered authors are automatically resolved by the scheduling software. Therefore, we are unable to accommodate rescheduling requests. With over 2,200 participants, rescheduling a single presentation would affect not only the relevant panel but also many others, due to the necessary cascading adjustments across the programme.
Thank you for your understanding.

Information about Scheduling

Each year, the ESC receives feedback regarding sessions scheduled at less favourable times or in rooms perceived as less convenient. However, it is important to understand that due to the size of the ESC conference, manual scheduling is not feasible.

Scheduling is managed automatically by the built-in software on the AllAcademic platform. Sessions within the same thematic area are scheduled in the same room, in the order they were submitted by working groups or panel organisers. Parallel sessions within a thematic area are scheduled only when the number of sessions exceeds the available time slots. This order is only adjusted when the software identifies scheduling conflicts for participants, which it resolves automatically without manual intervention.

Further Information

Please note that room assignments currently shown in the draft programme may still be subject to change prior to the conference.

Details regarding working group meetings and pre-conference meetings will be added to the programme no later than 20 August.

Due to potential last-minute withdrawals, the programme may continue to change up to the final hours of the conference. As a matter of policy, we do not dissolve panels unless the number of papers in a regular session drops below three. (Decisions regarding roundtables and author-meets-critics sessions will be made on a case-by-case basis.)

As many participants will have already booked their travel by the time the draft programme is officially published, any subsequent changes involving a shift in the date or time of a presentation will be discussed with the affected participants beforehand. Where possible, they will be offered suitable alternative panels on different dates and times before any reassignment takes place.

The schedule on this website always reflects the most up-to-date version of the programme. The official conference app—coming soon—will also contain real-time updates. App Store download links will be posted here once available.
