Session Submission Type: Organized Session
The integrated history and philosophy of science is fundamentally interdisciplinary, crossing divides between academic fields, different kinds of knowledge systems, and even different geographical regions and social groups. This session, sponsored by the International Union of History and Philosophy of Science and Technology, brings together papers that explore new frontiers in integrated HPS methodology. Using a diverse set of case studies that range from classical antiquity to modern computing by way of controversy studies, the contributions to this generative session pay special attention to methodology, exploring how HPS can be used to investigate big questions and foster cross-border dialogues.
