What, Who, How, and When: The Slippery Ontology of Computer-Mediated Sex Across the Lifespan

Sun, May 24, 9:00 to 10:15, Caribe Hilton, Ceiba

Abstract

This paper explores how perceptions of "having sex" change across the lifespan, especially in consideration of computer-mediated sexuality. When people say they "had sex," what does that mean? How does that change in consideration of age and other aspects of social identity? What particular acts do and do not count as sex? How does computer-mediated technologies play into these articulations? This presentation will explore these questions and more.
