ISME 30th WORLD CONFERENCE 15-20 JULY 2012
The purpose of the 30th ISME World Conference 2012 is to foster global understanding and cooperation among the world's music educators, by strengthening ties and sharing ideas about different aspects and issues within music education, in ways that promote music education for people of all ages throughout the world. The conference will have relevance for school and studio music teachers, university academics, music researchers, students of music, and other interested parties across all areas of music and music education. According to the conference organizers, “The Conference Theme: Music Pædeia: From Ancient Greek Philosophers Toward Global Music Communities, links today with Ancient Greece and will give a great opportunity to everyone to be expressed in their own, distinctive way, by also connecting the past with the present and the future.”

DEADLINES
The deadline for submissions is midnight (your time), October 1, 2011. LATE SUBMISSIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

Applicants will be notified of the results of the review process for presentations on or before February 28, 2012.

Applicants will be notified of the results of the review process for publication in the Conference Proceedings on or before March 31, 2012.

Successful applicants must confirm participation as presenters, by registering as a delegate for the World Conference no later than March 15, 2012 (Early Bird date). Should successful applicants not comply with this requirement, their submission may be withdrawn from the programme.

ISME Commission Seminars – Greece, July 2012
Each of ISME's seven Commissions (Research, Community Music Activity; Early Childhood; Education of the Professional Musician; Music Policy-Cultural, Educational and Mass Media; Policy, Music in Schools and Teacher Education, and Special Education: Music Therapy, Music Medicine) will hold a pre-conference seminar in Greece.
