Session Submission Summary

Music, aesthetics and market in Latin American margins

Mon, May 30, 9:45 to 11:15am, TBA

Session Submission Type: Panel

Abstract

The panel brings together researchers from Argentina and Brazil discussing how, in the last decades, creative appropriations of pop images and performances reconceptualise identities and restate subjects, politics and their networks. Therefore, it characterizes processes of reception capable of inspiring, simultaneously, new productive arrangements, unprecedent forms of circulation, and distinct forms of subjectivation and subjection. Departing from different urban art forms we take as the centre of our investigation inventive experiences depicted by different materialities and sonorities resulting in reflections that rely on the contemporary imbrication between the market and the production of aesthetics of the common.
