In recent months, the US and Cuba re-established their diplomatic relations, after 54 years of isolation and hostility. During that half century, however, their severed and hostile relationship had an impact on other countries -- particularly on Canada, Mexico, Venezuela, Spain, and the European Union, as well as other Latin American nations. This session explores the possible impact of the re-establishment of relations on those very countries that had adjusted to their severance. Different authors focus on these different countries and explore the economic, political, and military impacts of the past -- and possible changes for the future.
