Abstract

On this 50th Anniversary of LASA this session will present and discuss a symposium volume which discusses the contributions, institution-building and ethical and human rights concerns of LASA's first President, Kalman H. Silvert. The relevance of his scholarship and professional and institutional concerns to current and future generations of practitionrers and scholars will be particularly highlighted. Ricardo Lagos, former President of Chile will be an invited guest.
