This study analyzes the social interactions between Cuban public profiles of users without a particular geographical origin, occurring in the space of the Twitter Social Network. A society like Cuba, highly polarized politically, marked by unusual migration and connectivity features, added to the unique characteristics of Twitter, allow the existence of a very particular interactions between the Cuban users. In addition, the research compares these interactions at different periods of time, and gives results relating to distinctive features of both users and interactions between them.
Analyzing the patterns unveiled during the study, and the statistics obtained, were specified a number of demographic characteristics of users, such as age, gender, occupation and geographic location.The prevailing hashtags were also obtained in the period under review, the main topics addressed by the sample analyzed, the policy guidelines of the owners of the profiles, and the relations between users inside and outside the island, while held the characterization of the interactions occurring from different perspectives.
