This paper examines the trends in drug cultivation, production, and trafficking in Bolivia, concentrating on the major challenges in 2017. The paper examines Bolivia’s role in the cultivation of coca. This work also analyzes the role of US Drug Enforcement in Bolivia under the Zero Coca policy. In addition, this piece explores drug policy under President Evo Morales administration, seeking to answer the following questions: what are the major drug policies that the administration has implemented? What have been the impacts of such policies? How have such policies impacted U.S.-Bolivian bilateral relations? Have these policies been effective and achieving the original goals of the Morales administration.
