Globalization's winners? explaining support for globalization and free trade in Latin America

Abstract

Public opinion surveys show significant support for globalization and free trade among latin American mass public. On the other hand, a greater degree of economic opening seems be negatively correlated to support for both. Using data from the Americas and the World project, authors present and discuss different explanations for the overall support for Globalization and free trade as much as for differences among countries.
