This panel examines the major trends in drug trafficking and organized crime in Latin America. We have compiled a group of experts that study drug trafficking and organized crime in different countries throughout the region. The papers will examine who are the major actors in organized crime as well as the recent developments in drug trafficking and criminal operations. In addition, the papers will focus on the state’s responses to combat drug trafficking and organized crime. Finally, the panel will provide opportunities for comparative analysis among the cases examined.
