In this facilitated conversation, noted scholars Patricia Zavella (Professor Ermerita, Latin American and Latina/o Studies Department, UC Santa Cruz) and Roberto Gonzalez (Professor, Graduate School of Education, Harvard University) explore the contributions of immigrant families and youth to processes of justice and democracy in the U.S. The discussion will also highlight the ways in which current and past legal contexts, racism, and inequality have shaped the lives of immigrant youth and families and suggest the creative contributions that immigrant families and youth provide have pioneered to broadening the politics of belonging across the country.
