Hurricane Maria, a devastating Category 4 hurricane, caused billions of dollars in damages to Puerto Rico and left 3.4 million island residents without electric power, potable water, and telecommunications. Recovery is estimated to take years. This panel will address topics related to the economic, fiscal and unfolding humanitarian crisis in Puerto Rico following the catastrophic impact of Hurricanes Irma and Maria and the impact of the crisis on stateside Puerto Ricans. Panelists will present multidisciplinary perspectives on interrelated aspects of the crisis and prospects for the future.
