Session Submission Type: LASA Section Roundtable
The Politics of Political Science: Rewriting Latin American Experiences explores the relationship between knowledges and politics as well as the political (and ethical) role of the scholar today, arguing that the study of the politics of knowledge deepens our understanding of the politics of our times. Participants of this roundtable will either engage with aspects of the book or use it as a platform to develop their own views around issues of culture, knowledge, narrative and power in Latin American contexts and in theoretical terms. Particularly, the intersections between academia and politics and the emancipatory dimension of (self-) reflection will be at the center of the discussion.
