This comparative case study explores how six elementary English teachers in Saudi Arabia navigate language ideological tensions amid cultural and socioeconomic disparities. Carried out through serial interviews, the study’s findings highlight teachers’ roles in reframing English as an avenue for success and bridging gaps in parental support and resources. By examining teachers’ strategies for these ideological tensions, the study suggests policy and pedagogy improvements that address cultural sensitivities and foster equitable English learning.
