Session Submission Type: Symposium
This symposium proposal has four presentations about preservice teachers’ (PSTs) interactive read-alouds about Islam and Muslims. The first presentation investigates the representation of hijab in picture books and its references in interactive read alouds. The second presentation examines PSTs’ questions about Islam and Muslim characters. The third presentation examines references to Islam and Muslims in post-read-aloud activities in teaching. The last presentation investigates PSTs’ reflection of their teaching and concerns about Islam and Muslims.
