Session Submission Type: Symposium
The papers in this symposium examine the critical and racial literacies of Ethnic Studies-trained teachers and their Latine/x and Latin American immigrant students as they engage in examinations of power, oppression, and racism. Presenting findings from three distinct empirical qualitative studies, this symposium speaks to the complexity, heterogeneity, and possibilities within the cultivation of critical and racial literacies in communities that have often been treated as monolithic.
