Session Submission Type: Alternative Format Session
In this alternative format session, scholars who participated in the Literacy Research Association’s 2024 Advancing Reading and Literacy Education delegation to Havana, Cuba will share insights derived from subsequent biweekly critical conversations. We engaged in collaborative self-study using transnational and sociocultural perspectives to explore questions related to civil literacies within and across U.S. and Cuban contexts. We will share our experiences and findings through multimodal presentations and engage participants in critical dialogue.
