Exploring the Shifting Literacy Policy Landscape

Session Submission Type: Alternative Format Session

Abstract

Recently, leaders of the LRA, ILA, and ALER convened to discuss sweeping policy changes. This alternative session seeks to continue explore how the organizations’ members can positively collaborate related to legislative mandates. Guided by Morrell's (2017) three imperatives for considering policy and practice, a panel of key individuals will share their experiences related to policy making, policy makers, and policy implementation to promote dialogue and potential action steps moving forward among session participants.
