Political discontent across UK regions: the role of economic grievances in a growing North-South divide

Brief Overview

Building on work on geography and discontent, I show for the UK that the Great Recession saw a greater rise in discontent in the North, and that perceptions of regional economy and London’s overperformance help explain the North’s greater discontent.
