A wealth of research in past years focused on multicultural education in South Korea has addressed approaches to multicultural family education. After reviewing the literature, the purpose of this presentation is to reexamine the current perceptions and policies surrounding multiculturalism and multicultural family education in South Korea in order to expose the needs of multicultural families. This study seeks to address the following themes: multicultural policies and multicultural education in South Korea for multicultural family children. Regarding multicultural families, this study focuses on community services and the intervention of alternative schools that support children of international marriages adaptation and academic achievement. This study provides a more in-depth understanding of multiculturalism and multicultural education in South Korea.
