In Event: Divisions F Paper presentations: Navigating history and social justice issues in education
The world of today is one infused with distractions and challenges. Teachers and students can greatly benefit from discussion but engaging in those discussions is affected in subtle and not so subtle ways by various contextual and external factors. This session will contextualize discussions in the fast-paced world of today discussing evidence-based guidance for history educators to cultivate discussions considering implications of technology’s integration in ways that lead to deeper learning. The session will close with five specific strategies that are key to driving these successful discussions and participants will leave with helpful tools to guide deeper discussions as well as discuss implications for their contexts.
