How to Publish a Manuscript: Advice from the Editors of the Mid-Western Educational Researcher

Abstract

The 90-minute session will be interactive throughout with the presenters providing some information about the publishing process, with the participants being able to ask questions at any time point. It will also involve applied activities. We will share techniques and materials that can help participants as they go through the publishing process. An example of a technique we will share is several ways to structure a response to reviewers while revising and resubmitting a manuscript. Possible materials are sample decision letters. Sample manuscripts and reviewers’ feedback will be available so that participants, either by themselves or in small groups, can practice how to give effective feedback as manuscript reviewers or analyze reviewers’ feedback to determine how to response as an author.
