Abstract

The purpose of this seminar is to explore how communication scholars are uniquely equipped to diagnose and prescribe remedies for threats to our democracy posed by the growing rates of incarceration. More than an occasion to analyze these issues, this seminar proposes to produce a document outlining a course of action for communication scholars and activists for opposing the prison-industrial-complex.
