Abstract

This panel explores various pedagogical approaches to intercultural communication and/or diversity classes depending on different school situation. Geographic conditions and school environments do affect what students learn from these classes. If we carefully design the classes to meet the students’ perceived “reality” by taking account of these factors, we may be able to minimize the risk of reinforcing stereotypic perspectives. Each panelist introduces practical examples at different schools and explicates their unique techniques and ideas.
