Session Submission Type: Panel Discussion
Postmodern governance might be described as the realization that nations are necessarily paradoxical. The current juncture between the related modernist projects of nation building and independence and those postmodern structures of globalization and mobile capital (both cultural and economic) coexist and coalesce, we would argue, through the mediation of nations, states, and citizens. Our panel takes up this idea of mediation in its exploration of the salutary and enervating aspects of the national project.
