Abstract

As an academic discipline, communication can be gauged by its health. This panel explores how the leader’s effectiveness in communication can enhance the social and cultural dimensions of the organization while also examining the question, Is society “better off” with communication as a growing discipline, especially as it relates to organizations. Research of multiple presenters argues that the study of communication is essential for creating, maintaining, changing, and evaluating our institutions and organizations.
