Hannah Arendt, Judgment, and Responsibility

Fri, November 16, 12:30 to 1:45pm, Chicago Hilton, Floor: Fourth Floor, Conference Room 4F

Abstract

Scholars across a variety of disciplines are currently revisiting the political philosophy of Hannah Arendt. Rhetorical theorists are no exception as communication is perhaps the most central feature of the vita activa. This paper explores three concepts in Arendt’s thought that are pertinent to rhetorical theory: judgment, responsibility, and forgiveness.
