Session Submission Type: Panel Discussion
This panel employs feminist readings in order to explore the ethics and intellect of popular culture texts enjoyed by young women. Specifically, the panel offers analysis of continuing debates regarding the appropriateness of Judy Blume novels; an exploration of "tweenage" novels and how they place young readers into experience; consideration of how women's work ethic is portrayed in Gilmore Girls; and exploration of how Georgia O'Keeffe's works are being appropriated for young women.
