Sexualized Images of Women of Color in Mainstream Film

Abstract

This panel will explore how women of color are continuously sexualized in mainstream films, thus contributing to their marginalization. By discussing one particular film which addresses either the depiction of African Americans, Asians or Latinas, the participants, all women of color, will share how sexualized images perpetuate negative views of their race.
