Session Submission Type: Panel Discussion
Instructors who try to teach a natural, conversational delivery style in public speaking may encounter obstacles. Students sometimes resist conversational delivery. And many textbooks undercut their own stated preference for conversational delivery via model speeches that clearly are not conversational, and via contradictory advice on other matters. On this panel, four public-speaking instructors who have long been dedicated to teaching conversational delivery style will share classroom assignments and exercises found to be helpful toward this goal.
