Media Research in Multicultural Communities: Methods and Strategies for an Era of Media Reform

Abstract

With regard to the multicultural audience, the panel will explore effective methods of inquiry, share their own recent research, and explore how such research contributes to a more robust discourse on media reform, media policy and media content. The panel will demonstrate how qualitative research complements social science approaches to allow those at the social margins of media ownership to speak for themselves about their lack of access, and to explain in depth how they utilize and view media today.
