Tiresias: A Meta-Performance

Abstract

The figure of Tiresias penetrates Greek drama --the shape shifter who has lived both as a man, as Zeus's priest, and as a woman, as a prostitute of great renown. Tiresias wields his and her staff throughout many canonical texts where his blindness, her cripdom, offers special status.

In this meta-performance, we are going to share some of the paths and resting places of a new production-in-the-making, Tiresias, a show grounded in disability culture.
