Session Submission Type: Panel Discussion
This panel is an engagement with Kenneth Burkes theory of equipment for living and how this notion operates within various historical, political, social, and cultural moments. Ranging from the study of disaster films to popular music, panelists will extend Burkes theory not only to include popular cultural texts, but also to critically analyze how the notion of equipment for living functions within society in both the past and the present.
