Abstract

This panel examines family ethnography and the questions that arise when an ethnographer is always already a part of the ethnographic site. What methodological, ethical, personal, and intellectual tensions come into play when performing family ethnography? What role does love play in this scholarly process? This panel seeks to explore ways in which traditional questions and ethical considerations of ethnographic praxes are problematized at the site of family ethnography.
