Abstract

This panel examines the educational opportunities and limitations available to competitors in Lincoln-Douglas debate. By examining judging paradigms, criticisms, and plan advocacy, a multi-faceted approach to understanding these restrictions and possibilities gives insight into the knowledge competitors may gain while competing. By examining these limitations, the panel will shed light on areas that need improvement to help continue to improve the event and shape the pedagogical goals held by coaches, competitors, and the community.
