The social controversy surrounding homosexuality is often conceived of as a clash between largely secular, pro-gay discourse and anti-gay discourse rooted in a faith-based justification of the sinfulness of homosexuality. This paper explores the implications of a newly emergent evangelical gay Christian discourse within the public sphere. The consequences of this alternative faith-based discourse for pro-gay/anti-gay rhetorical engagement and for political mobilization are examined.
