Sat, November 17, 3:30 to 4:45pm, Chicago Hilton, Floor: Third Floor, PDR 7

Abstract

Teams are significant components of organizations. They require interaction to complete their organizational tasks, and communication competency is key to the effectiveness of group communication. The primary purpose of this study was to explore the communicative competence of a functional work group (or team) in relation to team and organizational identification. Two teams were analyzed and differences between teams were observed both in terms of identification scores and their information exchange and relational messages.
