This study examines young womens communication with sexual partners regarding sex and contraception, reflecting upon perceptions of their sexual communication behavior currently and during adolescence. Thirty seven (37) women between the ages of 19 and 25 were interviewed and transcripts were analyzed using grounded theory (Strauss & Corbin, 1990). The results suggest that young women lack the communication skills to navigate sexual situations.
