Discussions concerning rhetorical agency have proliferated in the field yet agency's relation to subjectivity is more complicated. This paper critically examines select literature in rhetorical studies to examine this interconnection further in order to complexify the question of agency and subjectivity by multiplying the various positions that emerge from the discussion beyond the two orientations.
