Communities work via narrative, storytelling and other performances to collectively repair the symbolic undoing wrought by violence. Due to globalized flows of media, testimonies of violence are impervious neither to the structural violences created by the international capitalist order of states, nor to global media flows. This ethnographic study examines nation and democracy as strategic transnational identity practices enacted via ICTs by a local community in Lebanon and the global Lebanese diaspora.
